Are you looking for a detailed overview of how to build a VC-ready startup?

Join Gunderson lawyers Brian Patterson and Jared Grauer for a dial-in session, as they provide a detailed overview of how to build a VC-ready technology company. They will walk you through the steps of forming your company, allocating initial founders’ shares, assigning and protecting founder IP, granting stock to employees and taking initial friends and family capital. They will also cover a variety of simple traps to avoid now, so you don’t have to fix them later. The session is tailored to seed-stage founders who aspire to venture funding, but topics will include best practices that are generally relevant to anyone starting up in a market where investors and employees all expect certain structures.

Founded more than fifteen years ago, Gunderson Dettmer has become the nation’s leading business law firm for entrepreneurs, emerging growth companies and venture capitalists.

Tips
  1. Audio: For the best audio experience, mute your mic when you aren't speaking and plug-in headphones to your mobile phone or computer. You'll want to be sure that you don't miss anything from the session and that your fellow members aren't distracted by your background noise.
  2. Connectivity: Be sure to shut down other apps and programs on your device for optimal visual and sound quality.
  3. Participate: Be prepared with a 10-15 second elevator pitch and take down any questions for the guest during the session.
