Speaker

Kunal Mehta is a New York City based venture capitalist at Hearst Ventures, former entrepreneur, and the author of Finding Genius and Disruptors.

Previously, Kunal managed technology investments for the NYU Innovation Venture Fund, a seed-stage fund investing in NYU students, faculty and researchers. In this role, he led or supported investments in companies and worked with NYU founders at all stages of the venture-building process.

Kunal began his career at J.P. Morgan but transitioned away from Wall Street to work at the intersection of social impact and technology at charity: water, a nonprofit where he helped support grant investments in NGOs bringing clean water technologies to developing countries. Prior to working in venture capital, Kunal partnered with two co-founders to launch Unfold, a long-form content mobile startup.

Through Disruptors and Finding Genius, Kunal has profiled the early investors and founders behind companies such as Uber, Airbnb, Lyft, Pinterest, Betterment, LearnVest, Tesla, Space-X and many more.
