Tackling Imposter Syndrome ft. Janine Yancey, Founder of Emtrain

Virtual · Zoom
Free · Guests welcome

On a bi-monthly basis, the Women's Leadership Committee tackles a different topic relevant to Women Founders. A woman speaker is chosen to lead the discussion, and it is followed by Q&A and a roundtable session. Please see agenda below.

Topic: Imposter Syndrome

This month, FN'er and member of the WLC Janine Yancey will address the topic of Imposter Syndrome: A psychological pattern in which an individual doubts their accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a "fraud".

According to a TechRepublic, 58% of all tech workers suffer from Imposter Syndrome. This is especially pervasive with women in leadership positions in tech, who only made up 17% of founders in 2017, and who only brought in 2.2% of VC funds in 2018.

During this discussion, Janine will begin by telling her story tackling Imposter Syndrome, and the steps she took to overcome it— eventually building a 7-figure company with 50+ employees.

Men are welcome to join the call and listen in to be educated on these issues, and how to champion their female peers.
